Tracy Pearce

Tracy Pearce is Unity MAT’s Chief Executive.  A Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, she has both public and not for profit sector experience having led a large-scale mutual organisation for over 6 years which provided support services to schools and other education settings.  She has worked in the education sector since 2004, leading a number of teams and specialisms in a metropolitan Local Authority and spent over 16 years in front line housing management before that.  She brings commercial and education sector experience and a vision for Unity to enable growth and further development of the trust.  In addition to her role as CEO, she has been a Non-Executive Director of a small Community Interest Company as well as having been a Non-Executive Member on the Board of a Training Provider.  She was also a non-Magistrate member of the Black Country Advisory Committee, a part of Her Majesty’s Courts & Tribunals Service for 9 years.  She was a school governor in a maintained school for 14 years which culminated in her becoming chair, a role she held for 5 years.  She is also the Vice Chair of Trustees at an Academy Trust based in South Staffordshire. 

Angie Perry

Angie Perry is Unity MAT’s Chief Finance & Resources Officer. She has a wealth of experience in both finance and HR. She began her career with the NHS, working in Accountancy before moving to Local Government where she worked in Internal Audit. She became a Principal Investigator within an LA’s Corporate Investigation Team and subsequently set up her own limited company delivering employment investigations, mediation and training. She has also worked as a Senior HR Consultant in a not for profit organisation providing HR advice, support and training to the company and its clients, which included a number of schools, both maintained and academies. She has significant education governance experience having been a governor of a maintained school, a 6th Form college and has previously been Chair of Governors of a secondary academy school.

Sue Backhouse

Sue Backhouse is Woodlands School's Head Teacher.  She has worked within the Education Sector since 1991 and has experience of teaching in both mainstream and SEN schools. Sue initially taught PE and Geography before becoming a Director of Specialism in a SEN Sports College and then moving into Senior Leadership positions. For 5 years before moving into teaching Sue worked as an Outdoor Instructor. She has retained a keen interest in education in the outdoors and is passionate about ensuring a very broad and balanced curriculum.  In addition to her career as a teacher and senior leader, she has for many years volunteered as a Youth Club Leader, Parish Councillor and Rugby Coach.

Paul Bond

Paul Bond is Unity MAT’s Site and Facilities Manager. He has estates and facilities management experience that has been predominantly in the state and independent education sectors. He worked for Birmingham City Council for 26 years providing site management and support to school leaders across the city. He has experience from the construction industry as a former co-director of a family business. He brings health and safety knowledge and experience of multi-site management from the private education sector. He is a Member of the Institute for Workplace and Facilities Management.

Alex Khabazian

Alex Khabazian is Unity MAT's Trust IT Manager. With a decade of experience in IT, Alex has progressed from service desk analyst at the Co-operative to work at Linnaeus (part of Mars group) as an infrastructure engineer focusing on cloud migrations and management, before making a move into education. He's worked in both mainstream primary and secondary schools as trust IT technician before moving into an IT manager role. He now applies his expertise at Unity Multi Academy Trust, playing a crucial role in developing a central technical team to deliver exceptional service across the Trust's schools.
